Method

  1. Heat some olive oil in a large frying pan over a moderate heat.
  2. In a large pan, fry the onions, carrots and garlic until golden-brown.
  3. In another pan, brown the beef and pork mince in batches, adding the browned meat to the onions as you go.
  4. Finally add the tinned tomatoes, the remaining stock and the oregano and bay leaves.
  5. Bring to the boil and then simmer for two hours.
