Beef ragu

Method
- Heat some olive oil in a large frying pan over a moderate heat.
- In a large pan, fry the onions, carrots and garlic until golden-brown.
- In another pan, brown the beef and pork mince in batches, adding the browned meat to the onions as you go.
- Finally add the tinned tomatoes, the remaining stock and the oregano and bay leaves.
- Bring to the boil and then simmer for two hours.
